CRA and Service Canada Payment Dates 2026: Every Benefit in One Calendar

CPP and OAS are deposited on the same day. Provincial and territorial programs that the CRA runs on behalf of a province are usually paid together with the federal benefit they are attached to — for example, many provincial child benefits arrive with the Canada child benefit.

Full 2026 payment calendar

Each cell shows the day of the month the payment is issued. An empty cell means that program does not pay that month.

Two patterns are worth knowing. Monthly programs are usually paid on a fixed day each month, but the date moves earlier when it falls on a weekend or holiday. And in December, payments are issued earlier than usual: the Canada child benefit on December 11 and CPP and OAS on December 22, 2026.

What changed in 2026

The GST/HST credit has a new name

Since July 2026 the quarterly GST/HST credit is called the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit. The CRA says the eligibility rules, payment calculation and structure are unchanged, but the amount was increased by 25% for five years, from 2026 to 2031. A one-time top-up was paid on June 5, 2026. The January and April 2026 payments went out under the old name; the July and October payments under the new one. You do not need to apply separately — filing your tax return is enough.

The Canada Carbon Rebate is closed

The federal benefits calendar now lists the Canada Carbon Rebate as closed, with its last payments in 2025. If you were expecting a carbon rebate deposit in 2026, it will not come.

The Canada Disability Benefit pays monthly

The Canada Disability Benefit is paid by Service Canada once a month, mid-month. Its dates are listed separately from CPP and OAS.

What to do if a payment doesn't arrive

The CRA asks you to wait before calling, because deposits can take a few business days to appear:

• Canada child benefit and Alberta child and family benefit: wait 5 working days after the payment date.
• Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit, Ontario Trillium Benefit, Advanced Canada workers benefit and the Newfoundland and Labrador disability benefit: wait 10 working days.

Before you call, sign in to CRA My Account to check that your direct deposit details and mailing address are current and that the payment shows as issued. For CPP, OAS and the Canada Disability Benefit, check My Service Canada Account and contact Service Canada.

Missed payments are most often caused by an unfiled tax return. Most benefits are recalculated from your return, and for couples both partners must file every year — even with little or no income.

How the payment dates are set

The CRA and Service Canada publish each year's payment calendar in advance. Payments go out on a business day; when the usual date falls on a weekend or a federal holiday, the payment is issued on an earlier business day. That is why, for example, the June 2026 Canada child benefit arrived on June 19 rather than June 20.

As of October 14, 2026, neither the CRA nor Service Canada had published the 2027 dates. This page will show them when they do.

Direct deposit is the fastest way to be paid

Payments by direct deposit reach your account on the payment date. Cheques depend on mail delivery and can take several more days. You can set up or change direct deposit through CRA My Account, through your bank's online banking (most major banks offer a CRA direct deposit option), or by phone with the CRA. For CPP and OAS, direct deposit is managed through My Service Canada Account.
